On schedule, CMS released the 2014 Sunshine Act data, which shows $6.49 billion in transfers of value by pharmaceutical and medical-device manufacturers to physicians and teaching hospitals.  The data covers 11.4 million financial transactions attributed to over 600,000 physicians and more than 1,100 teaching hospitals.

Join us on July 8 or July 14 for a web seminar discussing the trends revealed by the 2014 data and exploring the compliance risks that affect both pharmaceutical and medical device entities reporting the data and hospitals reviewing data about their affiliated physicians. The web seminar is offered at no charge to clients and friends of Norton Rose Fulbright.

According to CMS, it validated 98.8% of all records for 2014 and 2013 data as containing accurate identifying information about the associated covered recipient. CMS rejected and did not process records that could not be verified as relating to an individual covered recipient. CMS has promised to continue to update the Sunshine Act / Open Payments website annually.
