The recent executive order issued by the Trump administration delays implementation of the final Common Rule to protect human research subjects.

With respect to all regulations that have been published but have not yet taken effect, President Trump has temporarily postponed their effective date for 60 days for the purpose of reviewing questions of fact, law, and policy.

During the 60-day delay, the final rule will be subject to review and could be reopened. It is uncertain at this time whether any changes will be made. We will post an update once additional information is released.
