By listserv message, CMS announced that applicable manufacturers and applicable group purchasing organizations (“GPOs”) can start Phase 2 of Open Payments registration and detailed data submission process on June 1. Phase 2 itself has two steps and Phase 2 closes on June 30, 2014:

Step 1: Starting June 1

Applicable manufacturers and applicable GPOs must complete system registration and confirm the accuracy of the reporting entity’s profile data submitted during Phase 1. CMS advises that manufacturers and GPOs should also upload test files to validate file structure and file contents, and fix data errors (if any) in submitted files.

Step 2: Starting June 9

During this step, CMS will allow manufacturers and GPOs to complete final data submission (which includes a series of checks to match the reported data to the appropriate physicians and teaching hospitals), and to submit attestations.

CMS also encouraged industry stakeholders to consult newly posted tutorials available on the Events and Data Submission and Attestation pages of the Open Payments website relating to the Phase 2 submissions (for example, a video tutorial explaining how to format data is available here). CMS also passed along information about a new Help Desk offering live support by phone at 1-855-326-8366 (Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CT), excluding Federal holidays).
