Teaching hospitals that wish to be part of a Medicare Graduate Medical Education (“GME”) Affiliated Group for the purpose of aggregating Indirect Medical Education (“IME”) and direct GME full-time equivalent (“FTE”) caps for the July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015 academic year must submit Medicare GME Affiliated Group Agreements to CMS by July 1, 2014.
Teaching hospitals part of an Affiliated Group for the current academic year must submit amendments to CMS also by July 1.
New agreements and amendments should be electronically submitted to CMS Medicare GME Affiliation. CMS no longer accepts hard copies. Teaching hospitals should also submit new agreements and amendments to their Medicare Administrative Contractor.
